Swap-free accounts

Swap is never applied on instruments traded on Versus Trade swap-free accounts. Swap-free accounts are automatically provided to Versus Trade users residing in Islamic countries, while a conditional swap-free program exists for non-Islamic country residents.

Swap-free for Islamic countries

Standard and extended swap-frees

Swap-free accounts are available at two levels to non-Islamic countries: standard or extended. The difference is the amount of trading instruments with zero swap. Extended swap-free is offered by default, with trading activity determining whether an account becomes standard or remains extended. To maintain extended swap-free status, you need to trade mostly within the day and hold a low amount of overnight positions.

Swap-free status applies to the entire Personal Area; in other words, all trading accounts and account types will have the swap-free status if your Versus Trade account is swap-free.

Specific instruments are considered swap-free under standard and/or extended levels (see below); for all other trading instruments, swaps are applied.

Extended swap-free

Extended swap-free includes standard swap-free instruments and additionally:

  • Majors: AUDUSD, EURUSD, GBPUSD, NZDUSD, USDCAD, USDCHF, USDJPY, USDTHB
  • Minors: AUDNZD, EURCHF, GBPJPY, AUDCHF, AUDJPY, EURAUD, EURCAD, EURGBP, EURJPY, EURNZD, GBPCHF, GBPNZD, NZDJPY, NZDCAD
  • Commodities: XAUUSD, USOIL
  • All cryptocurrencies: (includes BTCXAU, BTCXAG, BTCTHB, BTCAUD, BTCZAR, BTCCNH, BTCJPY)
  • All indices

Swaps are charged for all other metals, energies, minor pairs, exotic pairs and stocks.

Standard swap-free

Standard swap-free will have no swap applied for orders open overnight for these instrument groups:

  • Most cryptocurrencies (excludes BTC crosses: BTCXAU, BTCXAG, BTCTHB, BTCAUD, BTCCNH, BTCZAR, BTCJPY)

Changing between swap-free levels

The swap-free level is determined by trading activity. By default, you start with extended swap-free. If you do not trade mostly during trading hours and hold a large number of positions open overnight, you may be moved to standard swap-free.

Key information

Pay attention to notifications in your Personal Area (PA) for any imminent changes to your swap-free level.

Here are a few key points to keep in mind when using our swap-free program:

  • Trading behavior is analyzed using an algorithm to ensure compliance on swap-free accounts per the Client Agreement’s terms.
  • To maintain extended swap-free, it is recommended to trade mainly during the day and minimize overnight orders.
  • A notification is sent to your PA when the swap-free level may be changed from extended to standard swap-free.

Swap-free compliance

The company reserves the right to the following actions to ensure compliance with swap-free accounts:

  • Cancel the swap-free status on all trading accounts.
  • Once swap-free status is discontinued, swap charges will be applicable for open orders and orders opened in the future.
  • A notification will be shown to the PA should the swap-free status be canceled

Swap-free for Islamic countries

Versus Trade accounts registered from Islamic countries are assigned swap-free status automatically. This swap-free status ensures that swap is never applied to orders open overnight. Swap-free status applies to the entire Versus Trade account; in other words, all trading accounts and account types will have swap-free status if your Versus Trade account is swap-free.
